About

Hi there,

I have set up this blog to allow my friends and family to follow my racing and training endeavours.

I began competing in Triathlons in 2008 following returning from Afghanistan with the Australian Army and undergoing a shoulder reconstruction. I had read a few triathlon magazines and thought that it would be fun to have a crack.

I currently work as a Linesman for Energex which can be up to 50hrs a week. Prior to working for Energex, I was in the Austrlaian Army from 2001 as an Infantryman with 6th Battalion, The Royal Australian Regiment (6RAR). I was fortunate enough to deploy to East Timor and Afghanistan as well as many other trips overseas. In 2009, I was awarded the Conspicuous Service Medal during the Queens Birthday honours.

I was married to my beautiful wife Hayley in 2011 at the Outrigger on the lagoon resort in Fiji which was easily the best day of my life.

In regards to Triathlons, my favourite race would have to be the Ironman. I love racing any distance but there is just so much that goes into an Ironman from the first to the last person across the line. My goal is to make it to the Hawaiian Ironman which I fell just short of qualifying this year so for now its time to knuckle down and hook in.
